That No-Gooder Ike!!

First of all, my family and I are all safe. We had no damage to our house, except for a gutter that fell off of the house...we are also one of the fortunate ones that has electricity and water.

Keith and I had quite an adventure this last weekend getting to Houston after Ike visited. We were in San Francisco on vacation while Faith stayed with my mom in Spring. We were supposed to come home this past Friday evening, but our flight got cancelled. So we had two options: OPTION 1: stay in San Francisco until Monday when our flight was rescheduled or OPTION 2: try to find our way back to Texas sooner than Monday. We opted for OPTION 2 and were able to get on a flight to Dallas. Our friends, Matt & Shelley graciously took us in and picked us up at the airport close to Midnight on Friday. We stayed there on Saturday watching the news coverage and checking in on all of our families. We were able to rent a car at DFW airport and drove back on Sunday afternoon, not knowing for sure what the driving conditions were going to be, but we wanted to be with Faith and close to home. My in-laws checked on our house on Saturday and everything was okay and they ended up staying at our house along with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law and kiddos since we had electricity and none of them did and still don't as of Tuesday morning. I had to go back to work yesterday (Monday) and it is pretty much business as usual. The hospital had some minor damage, but hopefully will be repaired soon. We did have a great vacation and I will post some pictures soon. :)
