Go! Go! Go!

On Tuesday we took Faith to her first Houston Rockets game. We were fortunate to get free tickets through Keith's work. He had really great seats on the first level, so Faith was able to see all of the action. She enjoyed all of the lights and music and was entertained the majority of the night. Our seats were in the corner where the visiting team comes on to the basketball court.

Since it was Fat Tuesday, several people were dressed for the occasion and we even got free Mardi Gras beads to wear. We started talking to the man seated next to us and it turns out that his son plays for the Utah Jazz. The son's name is Ronnie Price. He isn't a starter yet, but comes off of the bench. I thought that was pretty cool. I looked up his picture and the son looks just like his dad.
The Rockets game was awesome and they played great! We got to see the new guy, Kyle Lowry in action and I think he will be a great addition.

Luis Scola is in the middle. Love him!
Yao Ming, Yao Ming, Yao Ming, Yao Ming, Yao Ming!! (sing the song....you know you want to!)
We of course had to check out the Memorial Hermann Sky Court. They had a lot of cool activities that kids of all ages could enjoy!

Can't forget about Topper (Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital's mascot).
Keith and Faith with a few of the Rockets Power Dancers!

Faith almost lasted till the end of the game, but ended up falling asleep some how with all of the noise and cheering in the middle of the fourth quarter, so she didn't get to see her first ROCKETS WIN, but hopefully we will be back this year because we all had a great time!

Elena Grace & Overalls

We finally got to meet Virginia's and Roberto's new baby girl, Elena Grace. Her first name is pronounced: L - N - A (the Italian pronunciation). She is so tiny....I don't remember Faith ever being that small. She is so sweet and spent most of our visit sleeping. I am sure she and Faith will be good friends in a few years. :) We brought dinner over and had a really nice visit last weekend.

I made Miss Elena some Aggie overalls. I was a little worried on how they would turn out because I am not that artsy, but I think they turned out pretty good for my first attempt. It did help that I had Faith's overalls to use as a guide and expert advice from my friend, Trisha who has made dozens of these, including the ones for Faith. Thanks Trisha!! What do you guys think?

Here is Elena modeling her new overalls with her Mommy....I think it will take a few months before she can wear them. ;)Here is Big Brother, Luca and his daddy, Roberto

Going to the Chapel...

Matt and Tara are getting married!!! My brother, Matt and Tara officially got engaged on Friday the 13th....He proposed on the 13th in order to throw off her suspicion of the proposal. We went to Conroe on Sunday for lunch to help them celebrate their engagement. They already have a wedding date planned for June....in L A S V E G A S !! We can't wait till then! :)
Congratulations you two!!! Faith is so happy she is getting an Aunt "T".

Valentine's Day

While Faith was playing with her cousin Milan and making Valentine cards and cookies with Grandma and Grandpa, Keith and I had an enjoyable Valentine's Day together. We went to dinner at Polo's. The food was so good.....we were so stuffed afterwards.
After dinner we went to see Legally Blonde at the Hobby Center.
We have season tickets for TUTS, so it was just by chance that the date for the show fell on Valentine's Day which worked out well for us. :) Legally Blonde was so good!! It had such high energy and besides lots of music there was plenty of dancing which was great! It was a nice surprise that we had the actress who originated the role of Elle on Broadway, Laura Bell Bundy playing the role while the other actress recovered from an injury. Not sure if there are tickets left for the remaining performances, but I would highly recommend going to see it.

Playing in My New Tent

Faith loves playing in her new tent that she got for Christmas from Grannie and Grandpa O'Connor. Besides the tent, it came with a backpack, flashlight, sleeping bag and a water bottle. Faith is having lots of fun playing with it. :) Not sure if we will ever camp outside, but the living room is good for now.

UPDATE - on What to Do?

A quick update to my post a few days ago about Faith waking up and not wanting to go back to sleep. Well the day after that long night....the lack of sleep finally caught up with her and she fell asleep on my lap as we were getting ready to watch the Super Bowl. She slept that way for almost an hour. I didn't want her to nap too long because then she wouldn't go to bed for us. Luckily she slept fine for us.

18 Months Old!!

Faith turned 18 months old today....can you believe it? We started off the day by going to her check up at the doctor's.
Faith is starting to remember being there I think, so she wasn't as comfortable around her doc like she usually is. She got two vaccinations today and only cried for a little bit. What a trooper!

Here are her stats:

Weight: 23.3# (40%)
Height: 32 inches (60%)
Head: 19 in (90%)

Everything is right on track and we don't have to return until she is 2 years old for her next checkup. She is a prefectly healthy toddler, except for a little cold that she got this week and has graciously shared with her parents. We are trying to teach her to share, right?

Here are a few pictures while we waited in the examine room for the doc.
What a little doll!! I guess I am a little partial though. :)Faith enjoyed pulling all of the books out of the basket while we waited. I had to give her the camera case in order to distract her because she was getting a little ansy.

3D........and Chuck

We are big fans of the show Chuck on NBC. It is really funny and quirky! Keith picked up 3D glasses at the grocery store, so we could enjoy the special 3D version of Chuck this past Monday. I was able to notice a little difference with the glasses on, but I wasn't that impressed....at least we have 3D glasses for the next time something comes along on tv that is 3 Dimensional. :)
You can actually see that we have Chuck playing on the tv in the background. Do you like my new look?? I am thinking of wearing these to work next week. ;)
Faith wouldn't wear the glasses for me, so this is the best I could do.

What To Do??

What to do when your child wakes up at 11:30pm and won't go back to bed??

No fever - check

Not sick - check

No dirty diaper - check

Rocked in the rocking chair - check

Walked around the house - check

Drink of water - check

Music - check

Pillow - check

Nothing of the above worked, so we TRIED to let her cry it out in the crib.....which makes me feel so BAD, but I don't know what else we could do. She went to sleep after 15 minutes and slept for 30 minutes and then woke up again....UGH

I ended up getting her to fall asleep on the living room floor with her blanket and pillow....and I dared not move her for the risk she may wake up.....so momma slept on the couch, so I would be near her in case she woke up again, but it was more comfortable than the floor. She ended up sleeping all night after that until a little after 7am....

I would love to know what goes on in her mind at night in order to keep her from being able to sleep.
